Pobierz polski program: FRONTIER ENCOUNTER 3 PL

24 May (Wednesday)

10 am – 1 pm: REPOSE IN ACTION – a work session led by Claudio Santana Bórquez and the Performer Persona Project

The session focuses on physical actions understood and practised as a living process and a way towards the essence of one’s being. The task of the training is to challenge the limits of the performer and help him/her to gain self-knowledge and develop in the field of art/craft and in daily life. The work is centred on: balance, the spine, guiding and following, impulse, attention and association. It deals also with chants and traditional songs (the body of a song, resonance, openness, tune, and rhythm).

Please take loose clothes for work. There is no obligation to sign up, but it would be great if you could please write a short email to: grzeg@amu.edu.pl in which you express your intention to participate.

6 pm: ANIMA (open work) – a stage essay based on the PPP’s performances Persona and Soul Counterfeiters with Claudio Santana Bórquez and the PPP actors

Anima is an open process inspired by and adapted from the latest works of the PPP: Persona and Soul Counterfeiters. It is an invitation for the audience to approach the most intimate and vulnerable part of the ensemble’s work.  It is an “aberrant nonsense”: an extravagant simulation of an attempt to surrender to the drama of one’s existence. On one hand, it is an immersion in the eternal search for referents and signifiers: a path that leads to understanding “why you do what you do.” On the other, it is a test, a tangible application, a risk that has to be taken in order to share the process within the performance. From theory to alive experience.

7:30 pm: CREATION IN THE AFTERMATH (Postrimerías) – an open dialogue with audience and the participants led by the PPP and STUDY || ROSA

We live in a post- era. Post-dictatorship in Chile, post-capitalism, post-ideology, post-truth, post-memory. Post-XX century. It seems that everything is allowed and licit. Everything could be called art and knowledge. 30-second-online-video seems to be enough to learn and to know. Masters are gone and paths are blurred. How to do (art) in this situation?

25 May (Thursday)

10 am – 1 pm: PIRAMUS – an open active exploration with participants, PPP, and STUDY || ROSA

Essentially, Piramus is a gathering of people in the same time and space under simple rules: no selection of participants; no verbal communication; no spectators or passive observers; no hurting yourself or others. The main objective is to reach an active participation by refraining from words and daily habits, by fighting inertia and artistic and/or professional clichés through the simple perception of silence, time, space, and oneself. Whatever occurs in this special moment is Piramus.

Please take loose clothes for work. There is no obligation to sign up, but it would be great if you could please write a short email to: grzeg@amu.edu.pl in which you express your intention to participate.

PERFORMER PERSONA PROJECT (Chile) cultivates a practice focused on the living experience of a human being in action. Silence, listening and observation are the doors to access the yearning that drives one’s actions. The craft on body, text, chant and rhythm is essential. This perspective has been developed through performances, research and a formative process. The PPP is directed by Claudio Santana Bórquez, and its current members are: Francesca Bono (producer, filmmaker, creative partner), Juan Pablo Vasquez (actor), Braulio Verdejo (actor) and Vicente Cabrera (actor). The team has presented its work in different formats and contexts in Chile, Italy, England, and Poland. It has been supported by the Grotowski Institute, STUDY || ROSA (Poland), the Laboratorio Permanente di Ricerca sull’Arte dell’Attore (Italy) and the Department of Performing Arts of Playa Ancha University (Valparaíso, Chile).
